Reach Your 2022 Instagram Goals Before It’s Too Late

We are all familiar with the Sunday Scaries - you know, the sinking feeling you get when Sunday hits and you realize your work week is about to begin - yuck! Well, I get that similar feeling when Q4 hits, and I realize I still have a few Instagram goals I wanted to hit - but I feel like I am running out of time before the year ends. In this episode, I want to give you a few tips to help you reach your 2022 Instagram goals before it’s too late!

Realign With Your Goals

Reassess Your Overall Goals

Come January first, we are all very ambitious with our goals. I mean, why not - at that time we feel like we have all the time in the world. But come Q4, we really need to reevaluate our Instagram goals and make sure they still align with where we are currently in our content creation journey.

Sometimes your goals need to be adjusted to fit into your latest plans and priorities. Maybe you had made a financial goal to secure a certain amount of brand partnerships by the end of the year, but midway through the year, you decided you wanted to give digital products a shot and it ended up becoming a strong revenue stream. Maybe brand partnerships are no longer really a necessary piece of the puzzle, and instead, you can make a new Q4 goal to add an additional one or two digital products to your shop.

It completely makes sense that our goals and priorities might change over time, so make sure you’re honest with yourself and remove or add goals as needed.

Evaluate Your Techniques

Sometimes it’s not the goal that needs to change, but maybe the techniques you have been using when trying to reach the goal. Let’s say you made a goal to increase your Instagram reach, but so far - you haven’t been seeing an increase. Instead of giving up on the goal, maybe instead you should reevaluate your technique - like your content strategy, the various post types you are focusing on, how often you are posting, etc. Maybe it’s time to experiment and try something new.

Increase the Timeline

Going back to the idea of being overly ambitious at the beginning of the year, we might not give ourselves enough time to complete a goal. So, at this stage, ensure that it is still feasible. There’s nothing wrong with making some adjustments to make sure you can actually reach your goals. We all have a reason for being on this content creation journey, and I get it - you want to hit those goals as soon as possible, but we have to remember, this isn’t a race—it’s about being persistent and consistent, and feeling good about it on the way.

Weekly Strategies

Now that you have realigned with your goals, I want to give you some specific, weekly strategies that you can adopt depending on your Instagram goals. This is actually a small nugget of what you will find inside my new, signature course designed to be your travel guide on your content creator journey that launched today - more on that in a second.

Make sure you have a pencil and paper, so you can write these weekly schedules down.

If you have a goal of growing your audience in 2022, here is a potential strategy that can fast-track that growth.

Monday: a Reel with trending audio

Tuesday: an education carousel graphic

Wednesday: another Reel with trending audio

Thursday: a sharable meme

Friday: one final Reel with trending audio

If you have a goal of increasing your engagement in 2022, you can try out this weekly schedule.

Monday: an educational, high-value Reel

Tuesday: photo dump carousel with a vulnerable caption

Wednesday: day in the life vlog style reel

Thursday: educational graphic carousel

Friday: another educational, high-value Reel

If you have a goal of converting more sales in 2022, this revenue-led strategy might be helpful.

Monday: educational graphic carousel with sales CTA on the final slide

Tuesday: educational Reel with product/service CTA

Wednesday: educational graphic carousel with sales CTA on the final slide

Thursday: educational Reel with product/service CTA

Friday: photo with a caption about product/service

Now, these are just examples and can be adjusted based on your goals, time, and priorities - but these might give you a little jump start in reaching your goals before the year is over.
