Why You Need a Content Creator Network

Networking has been around for years - it has played a huge role in the success of many businesses you know today and your content creation business shouldn’t be any different. Today, I want to share the importance of having a Content Creator Network (and a few tips on how to get one)! Let’s get into it!

What is “networking”?

Before diving into why you need a content creator network, let’s first go back to basics and chat about what networking even is. Networking is when you build connections and relationships with other people or businesses - in our case, other content creators. These connections can provide you with advice or someone to talk to that understands your struggles and even contacts that could provide you the needed pathways to get where you need in your journey.

Now, here’s why this is important and something you should consider focusing on.

You can do content collaborations.

If you build connections with other creators that are in a similar area of expertise as you - you can do collaborations on your various social media platforms to help cross-promote your platforms.

Now, when you’re building this network, remember it’s important to find creators who are near the same stage in their journey because you want this collaboration to be mutually beneficial. If you have 1000 followers on Instagram but are trying to reach out to people who have over 50k followers - this relationship wouldn’t be mutually beneficial for a couple of reasons. One, you would benefit more by being mentioned on their platform versus if you were to mention them on yours - just due to the number of followers you both have. But besides that - they’re in a different part of their journey and wouldn't provide you the same emotional or mental support you need, as they no longer are experiencing the same feelings and struggles you are at this stage of your growth.

The biggest thing you should keep in mind when collaborating with another creator is providing value. Do not go into this relationship with only “gaining followers” in mind. Instead, we need to focus our energy on making sure the audience of our collaborator is provided GREAT content and that is what will convert them into followers.

You can get advice and feedback.

Collaborating isn’t just about creating content together, it’s also about learning from each other and getting honest feedback as well. This is something I even do now with one of my team members, Shelby. A lot of times, when I finish my thumbnails for a YouTube video - I will send her a few options to look at and get her opinion. It’s so nice having a fresh set of eyes to look at something you created and getting feedback from someone who understands your area of expertise or at least the social media world is so helpful. Beyond just asking for feedback, you can also get advice or brainstorm together. Recently, I met one of my creator friends out for coffee and we both just chatted about our businesses. These conversations really help get your mental juices flowing, but also can help ignite a flame if you were starting to feel a little burnt out.

Your audience can benefit.

Something you can’t forget in all of this is that it’s not just about us - the most important person in this content creator journey is our audience - the end user. Building a content creator network is beneficial for the creators, but it can also be beneficial to your audience and the audience of the creator you are connecting with. By collaborating with another creator, you are providing your audience with a new point of few and information that maybe you didn’t have to give. So beyond potentially growing a new audience with the help of your creator friend, you’re also nurturing your existing audience by providing them with additional value and a new creator that can help them with their own personal journey.

How to build a content creator network.

Now that you understand why you need a content creator network, I have a super easy way you can start building this network today.

If you don’t already know, last week I launched my signature course, The Instagram Roadmap… and something I decided to do in addition to the course is have a few bonuses that are only available until September 16th. One of these bonuses is called the Founding Member Network. I hear again and again from creators just how hard it is to find collaborators and other creators who are in the same niche and at the same point in their journey. For the founding members of The Instagram Road Map - you’ll be added to, and have access to, this exclusive database of creators who are excited to connect and collab with other creators!

In addition to this bonus, you will also get my Notion Content Calendar - this is my Notion system for organizing your content ideas and plans across platforms. Whether you’re creating on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or a podcast (or any combination of them!) this content calendar will work for you. This is the system I use to stay organized and consistent with all of my content.

And, you will also get access to my Exclusive Live Q+A (and the recording) where I’ll answer any leftover questions you have about the course (which, if you submit them ahead of time via email, I'll check out your profile and give you personal advice + feedback!)

These are just the bonuses, in the course itself, we will…

  • Develop the foundational strategy and branding necessary for real growth

  • Understand the Instagram algorithm and how it can help you reach new audiences (it’s not holding you back! you just gotta know how to use it)

  • Craft a system and a strategy that works for you and your lifestyle, so you can see growth but not get burnt out

  • Recognize the most effective types of Instagram content that are growing accounts in 2022, and incorporate them into your own strategy

  • Implement the most effective methods for monetizing your content and audience to build a reliable income as a content creator
